Venture Kick for Startups

Venture Kick is a philanthropic three-stage funding model initiated to support Swiss startups with enough funding to kick-start their entrepreneurial success. Startups can qualify to receive up to CHF 150,000 in start capital. After each stage, promising entrepreneurs are also offered professional guidance in developing their business through the 2-day kicker’s camps and connection to an incredible network.

Three stages are:

• CHF 10,000 Pitch your business idea: Eight projects are selected to present their business ideas at each jury session, which takes place several times throughout the year. Four of them will receive 10,000 francs each, so you have a 50% chance of passing the first stage.
• CHF 40,000 Present your business case: During the first three months, project teams structure their business ideas, target initial customers and strategic partners to build a solid business case, and are invited to convince the jury they deserve to be among the two projects, from the four pitchings, selected to receive the second kick.
• CHF 100,000 Kick-start your startup: Six months later, the teams have to be ready for the market: they have demonstrated their entrepreneurial capacity, have built a solid foundation for the successful execution of the venture and can back up their vision with tangible market feedback. Again, 50% get the final kick!

Eligibility

• Anyone registered or working at a Swiss academic institution (students, postgraduates, researchers, professors, etc at a university, ETH or FH),
  • who is pursuing a concrete business idea and wants to create a promising company in connection with their research activity.
